A Pennsylvania teenage girl missing for nearly a year has been found alive in North Carolina. A 32-year-old man, Joseph A. Rossomando, was arrested on multiple charges, including statutory rape and kidnapping. The girl, reported missing from Reading, Pennsylvania, in June 2024, was discovered at Rossomando's home in High Point on Monday (June 16) after police received a tip about her whereabouts.
According to court documents, Rossomando faces several serious charges, including statutory sex offense with a child under 15, felony human trafficking, and felony sexual servitude of a child victim. He was also found in possession of child sexual abuse material. Rossomando is currently held at the Guilford County Jail.
The case has left the local community in shock. Neighbors expressed their disbelief and concern, with one telling WXII, "It makes you want to get to know your neighbors a little better just to protect each other and be on the lookout for stuff like that."
The Reading Police Department has yet to comment on the case. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather more information about the circumstances of the girl's disappearance and recovery.
